I don't want to grow up!

By Postulant Caitlin

I don't want to grow up
I wanna stay small
And I want a new pup
I'm havin' a ball

My life is great
I want to stay this way
It's growth that I hate
If I have to I'll pray

No matter what you say
I'm gonna stay like this
I want to do it my way
It's you I will miss

It's time to go
I won't lie
I can't say no
And so goodbye

Poetry

Grandma
(Based on my Grandma)

by Postulant Caitlin

I loved her so
And she loved me
She tied my bow
And called me bee

She was there
All the time
I knew she'd care
I'm her mime

Nature

Nature

By Postulant Caitlin.

Nature is so pretty
Like a tuneful ditty

It's flowers light up the day
And make the horses neigh

The moon lights up the night
And Venus is so bright

Merve the moth is awake
And is flying towards his wake.

Three Little Pupies

Three little Puppies

By Postulant Caitlin

Three little puppies,
Mary, Lary and Gary,
They are not guppies,
Just three little puppies,

They are small and cute,
And sometimes very noisy,
You can't put them on mute,
But that doesn't matter,
Because they're three little puppies.

My Little Cousin.

By postulant Caitlin

Shiny blue eyes,
Long pointy nose,
The sadness dies,
Then he starts to doze.

Soon he wakes up,
And gets out of bed,
Then he grabs a cup,
And waits to be fed.

Seaweed

Some is green and close to the shore
But there is more,
Deeper down,
Where it is several shades of brown.
In the Pacific and Atlantic,
Seaweed grows to be gigantic.
This mass has broken free,
And floats in the Sargasso Sea,
Where grumpy looking fish reside,
And other creatures like to hide.

School is Boring

School is really boring,
I hate the work.
I feel like snoring,
But then I'll be a jerk.
I'd rather be dumb,
But then everyone would tease me,
After I dip my thumb,
In tea.

poet’s corner

While I can’t hope to match the originality and verve of Josh’s artistic output, a friend recently reminded me of the following lines, inspired by the Cosmic Cowboy’s signature opus, I’d composed as a teen...

Sunshine
On my shoulders
Gives me sunburn

Sunshine
In my eyes
Can make me blind

Sunshine
On the water
Makes it evaporate

Sunshine
Almost always
’Cept at night

I Like Fish
By postulant Josh
I really like fish,
I don't get bigger,
That's my wish,
At least I don't get fatter.
I think fish is good,
But my sister doesn't,
She'd rather eat wood,
But I hope you find it pleasant.

Witty Caitlin

By Postulant Josh,

Between drinks at the pub bistro...

Caitlin, you are pretty.
And you’re really nice.
But sometimes you’re witty
Sometimes you don’t think twice.
You make bad choices,
Sometimes they’re good.
You really like horses
Even if they were wood.
