poet’s corner
While I can’t hope to match the originality and verve of Josh’s artistic output, a friend recently reminded me of the following lines, inspired by the Cosmic Cowboy’s signature opus, I’d composed as a teen...
Sunshine
On my shoulders
Gives me sunburnSunshine
In my eyes
Can make me blindSunshine
On the water
Makes it evaporateSunshine
Almost always
’Cept at night

Love it Mike!
So Josh IS most certainly a chip off the old four by two then!
Err, that was Jacob Kathy!
Back in the dark ages, when men wore chain mail to war and carried broadswords, I wrote a poem for a schools contest. In sixth class at the time, I still can recall bits.
My dear departed mother kept it (along with that 1974 Torch frontpage of my rocketing activities). I must go search for it.
OOPS! Sorry chaps.
I did enjoy you poem though, Jarcob.
Any more?
Oh goodness, there must have been some attempts at (bad) poetry by me over the ages. Like Bertie, I'll have to rummage through the vaults.
I recall there was a libretto kind of thing of album sleeve notes I compiled for a commemorative music album for a friend's Halley's Comet Party in 1986 (?).
I did that in the persona of Ian 'Dolly' Doldrum, host of the ABC pop music program Letdown. But that was a bit of a hit-and-miss...
Have to get back to you on all that...
