Good Friday

At last, a Friday theme that won’t turn into a weekly drudge.

How strange that we, as a culture, can be so relaxed about such a grotesque image — grotesque, yet so ubiquitous we become inured to its meaning.

UPDATE

“Poor President Obama has been described as the Hope of the World, but we only ever had one messiah that good and it’s a bit hard to live up to Jesus.”

Amen, Archbishop Peter Jensen. A-a-a-amen!!

Arrhhh, Christian symbols!

Obviously not a multi-faith blog!

Confusing faith and politics has always been dumb-arsed. No one - not even Obama supporters - seriously look to politics to support or define their faith or hope.

Politics is a limited and ugly beast, offering little meaning, if any, to our daily lives.

Jesus didn't die on the cross. He just held his breath until the pesky Romans thought he was dead.

When they denailed him they sold his not dead body to a local madam who had an unusual attraction for naked young men of the cross.

The rest of the story is history but I thought it best we clear up a few minor details.

Dead Sea Tabloids to be treated sceptically you say - Hell I always took them as gosbell, but when the editor is a guy named Eliot Ramsay and the Advertising manager Chris Parsons it may be best to take it all with a ton of dead sea salt.

Dead Sea Tabloids should also be treated extra carefully when being recycled for toilet paper.

Dead sea salt, on the other hand, is an excellent all over exfoliant.

Up until about 10 years ago you could always depend on free-to-air commercial tv to run Norman Jewison's screen adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar on Easter Sunday arvo.

What's happened to Our Valyooz???
