Dear Jarcob. Is that spunky looking
geetar player, you?
So what did ya play in your heyday, eh?
Have to find me a shot of my good self swinging the ol' axe (bass)...
Of course, there'd be a black beer in shot. Then again...if it were '74 or '75 it might've been Bodega, Ben Ean or Douglas Lambs Balckberry Nip depending who else was in shot in the Old Boy's garage.
Kath, this is a pic of my oldest mate, Pete, whom I've known since primary school. He'll be tickled to hear you think him a spunk... but of course that was many years ago.
I took this photo - which I prefer to call a 'study' - on Pete's front veranda. The house was in Cockatoo but destroyed in the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires (by which time Pete was living on the SA Fleurieu Peninsula, where he resides to this day).
I developed the film and print back in the days when photography still involved chemistry. Pete scanned and emailed it the other day. I'm sure I've still got the negative somewhere...
I never graduated beyond playing about 5 chords on ukelele. I did take up keyboard and harmonica at various stages, but haven't bothered for a while due to factors such as my 'tennis injury', oh and lack of any real musical ability. There's an old recording from around this era which I might be able to post here, with Pete playing lead geetar, me on wailin' harmonica, and a little Yamaha keyboard playing itself.
Extremely busy last coupla weeks so posts are even more light-on than usual.
That's a 12 string as well. Played those a few times. Nothing quite like being your own rythym section.
Even better when picked.
Stairway to Heaven anyone??
I really should do the "old man" thing and buy a guitar like I did the 'scope....
Having no real musical ability never deterred any young - or old - man from buying a guitar Jacob.
Father - see above. :-D
