Old Drunks fishing disgracefully...

Keeping the seat warm Jacob...

Ah, Father Park, you're most welcome to post as much or as little as you wish, during my hiatus.

So, were these pics from your recent sojourn at the 'Juk? The water level looks like it's down at least 15 meters or so!!

Incidentally, Caz seems to have had a touch of synchronicity between this post and today's Wednesday Wisdom:

Indeed they were Jacob. Except the first - it was from last May - as the weather was shit - and didn't lend itself to such panoramas. We'd 30-45km westerlies/sou'westerlies all bloody week. Damn near snowed on the Monday.

Good week though: keg, cases of black, red and decent food (that was leg two of two lamb legs ready to be demolished with the choy-sum in oyster sauce, pumpkin and taters).

Certainly didn't need ice in the esky on board Paralus (the boat) for the beer. Nothing like trolling and casting for greenfish and "yellas" to the strains of 10cc, Slade and Dire Straits. 'Specially when the crew are b-b-qing chorizzos on the casting deck.

Might head back again in June: one of those weekends when a big high-pressure system floats accross the Bight. Great greenfish weather that...

Btw Mike, that is such a pretty pic. Just clicked and enlarged it.
Good to get away from the rat race to such idyllic and tranquil surrounds, eh?

Fresh fish to boot, too!

Doesn't get any better than that, I reckon. (Apart from all those old codgers tee hee.)

It's a nice place let me tell you. Especially on those idyllic autumn days: big high pressure systems, flat as a mirror and warm autumn sunshine.

Not to mention the soundtrack, beer and suasage in the Paralus!

Even better on one's own casting, retrieving, trolling, drinking, singing, dancing....err...best stop there.

Umm, is it just me or does the successful fisherman look more distressed than the fish he is holding? Either that or he's feeling the cold. That's pretty much how I look when it's cold.

He's Rear Admiral Curt-Arse and he's just a little "over" the constant 30km sou'westerly.

As well, he'd like to return the fish and return to his beer...

I can well relate to Rear Admiral Curt-Arse. He's one of my ilk, I suspect.
