MY VOTE.............

For the quote of the election:

"...because her (Jackie Kelly's) husband may have done a foolish thing, that should not automatically be visited upon her. I would have thought that was a very old-fashioned view"

John Winston Howard, National Press Club November 22nd.

"I wonder what he thinks about second cousins?"

Stephen Keim, barrister for Dr Mohamed Haneef.

Boom, boom!

Haha! That's a neat, albeit relentlessly partisan, juxtaposition.

Keim: "I wonder what he thinks about second cousins?"

Need I remark that would probably depend on the balance of political advantage to be had?

If, say, the cousin was Labor stalwart, or trade unionist, or foreigner during an election campaign, the PM's 'modernism' might tend to submerge.

But let's have no more of such empirical observations, Father Park, else you'll be marked as the kind of voter who thinks puppies are only for Christmas.

(Whereas in fact they're delicious all year 'round.)

Indeed Bertie, indeed, but everyone - you know "thinking Australian's" - reached their own correct conclusion about a second-cousin on the other side of the world, in a random suburb, with an inactive mobile phone lost behind the couch, roughly three minutes after the whole story became public.

Surely?
