While I wouldn't want to belittle Babs' interpretation - and while never having actually seen Judy perform the song - I have to say that Judy's almost-understated, conversational, world-weary rendition simply trumps Babs' drama-queen histrionics and vocal flourishes - "me here at lahgghhst on the ground" - which are engineered to mask vocal deficiencies. Judy never over-reaches, she just becomes the song.

Babs isn't called a 'diva' for nothing. While Judy is an artist!
