I confess to having 'doctored' this shot with a bit of photoshoppery.

I used a graduated filter to bring out detail in the sky.

And I used bucket fill to insert the red splash on the horizon... this shot is actually looking east.

...

KIDDING!!!

That really is the sun setting on 2007 in the west.

But I did use a graduated filter to soften the sky more in keeping with what I saw with my mind's eye...

I shall be in Victoria next week. Ballarat I believe. Staying at this place - one of those timeshare type places that my sister-in-law is a member of.

Not quite NYC or Athens but, then, I can't afford anything like that this year. In fact, this time last year we were clambering onto a jumbo for the US.

Seems to have it all: pool, games room, cannoe lake, etc. One thing that concerns me - I wonder if it's got a decent bar?

Is that for business or pleasure?

Haven't been to Ballarat for years. Even then it was only passing through on our way out west ("where the rain don't fall").

We stayed with my 'kid' brother-in-law's family at Nhil (where he "got a job with a company" building roads), then ended up at Victor Harbour on a spur of the moment thing, while the kid stayed with her aunt & uncle & cous.

That was a cool trip, even though I got done for speeding. I was doing the same speed that then-Premier Jeff Kennett was doing in a borrowed Mercedes when he was intercepted by the Heat, around that time.

He got off with a warning. I lost my license for 3 months.

Have I said recently how much I love egalitarian Australia?

Pleasure...I hope. Children, wife, mother-brother-sister-in-law.

It best have a bar. And a reasonably priced one at that.

I will have to break the journey in Albury. Family room at the Astor Hotel/Motel. It most assuredly has a bar. Several.

Gotta leave Thursday and so will have a think about where else one might dally on the way back Sydney-wards.

Thanks, silver. Wish I could be there right now too. It's around 40 degrees at the moment in the city where I live.
