Synergy and prolixity observed

“If I ever develop reservations, well, I hope I would have the grace to keep them to myself because I think you take a position and you’ve got to live by that and be judged by it, and that’s my position.”

“Even if they were my thoughts, I think perhaps it would be better not to speak them.”

A couple of idle observations:

  1. There’s a certain synergy among the outposts of the Pax Americana.

  2. The Australian Prime Minister dubiously distinguishes himself with his prolix reticence.

Okay, so now we know his "position".

An inability and failure to admit wrong and change course.

I thought successful people were the ones who failed a lot and learnt a lot.

Seems that he has never learned how to learn.

He must believe that is the sign of a "strong" person and a sign of a real "leader". Neither of which is true. How very disappointing.

My other disappointment is that I have always made the assumption that Howard does what he does because he REALLY, REALLY has a conviction and belief in his decisions.

Doing the wrong thing without any conviction ... blah! That's inexcusable, particularly in public office.

What's disappointed me for so long now is that the punditry encourage his behaviour by always waffling on about what an "astute", "canny", etc., politician he is.

Everybody loves a winner, I guess. So much is excused.
