JFK, then Diana, now ... Steve Irwin

No, the Di death caused hyper-public-hysteria, which bore no resemblence to grief. More like collective self indulgence, which was rather apt.

Irwin's death has seen the expression of genuine public grieving over a unique and irreplacable Aussie.
