Bad feng shui

What is wrong in this picture?

The answer is that the gas cooking range has been situated opposite the wet area. This has put fire and water into opposition and conflict.

Accordingly, this house can not – will not – be a happy home.

Practitioners of feng shui who, as prospective purchasers or tenants of this house, are shown this kitchen, will instantly begin to make their way to the door, while politely but firmly asking to be shown another house.

As far as practitioners of feng shui are concerned, this general design is the kiss of death for this house.

I for one would not dare dice with Feng Shui! Next house please!

P.S - is your bed facing in the right direction to ensure harmonious relationships? Hmmm?

Being very new to this Feng Shui stuff, I'm a bit ignorant of the rules.

But according to the wiki article linked: "When sitting at a desk or lying in bed, the entrance door should be in a clear line of sight, and you should have a view of as much of the room as possible."

The benefit of a clear line of sight to the door is pretty obvious, in that one would have some advantage should, say, an axe-murderer approach.

Currently my bed faces the wall opposite the door, so not only is the Feng Shui not fortuitous, but I'm at greater risk of becoming a crime statistic.

Your bed should most especially never be in the coffin position either, that is, with your feet facing the door.

Well then I think the current configuration is just about optimal, considering the only other option is to have the bedhead obscure the glorious natural light coming in through the window. Or park it up against and obstruct the wardrobe.

Mate, feng shui can be a demanding mistress.
