A rather fetching young Bertie with a prize catch!

Love that sparkling pic of the lake too.

Were these taken at burrinjuck?

They were taken at Eucumbene - Providence Portal in fact.

1990 if I recall. There was still some hair under that beanie. The Bertie face, like the Earth with inter-glacial periods, undergoes inter-stubble periods. This seems to be one of those rare periods.

What is the lure?

Careful how you answer...

That's too funny Mike.
Not being a trout fisherwoman myself,(though I am sure that Rory would say that I was a fishwife!)I'll have to take a stab.

Is it a homemade lure? Maybe a yabbie????

That happens to be a classic Bennett-McGrath in BT (brown trout) pattern.

Made in Albury. One of the best Aussie lures ever made.

You certainly lured me into that one Bertie.

Never had any experience with lures, actually.

Just bait.

Having to thread wriggling maggots onto a hook, initially put me off, but, I got used to it.

Great bait for catching gardies sand whiting and herring. Can't stomach herring unless it is cooked fresh on the barbie soon after you catch it, though.

Can't freeze the bloody stuff either. Well that's not entirely true. Ya can, but it tastes like crap afterwards.Had a heap of frozen herring that the cat slowly worked his way through.
He was in seventh heaven, I can tell ya?
