A very "presidential" goat.

Perhaps he fooled the elk membership and is Chairgoat of the Elks Club?

I have invitied Kathy to become a member of the "Ilk Club". Only people of a certain ilk are invited. Do you wish to join Jacob?

Yes Mike, I'll be in that!

Of course Caz must also be a member.

The "Ilk Club"

Yeah... I like it.

Ya know Mike I would have loved to have been a member of the "Alonquin Round Table" back in the twenties. What a fun club that would have been I reckon!

I have sat and partaken of a Californian red and Samuel Adams dark ale at the very table.

You really must win the lottery and go.

In the meantime, I'll work up the Ilk Club. Someone of your (and Caz's) ilk are definitely foundation members.

You are all of the same ilk and that is the purpose of being in an ilk in the first place.

You joined the ilk because I became out of favour.

You are all part of an ilk that does not believe in the ancient saying that "too err is human but to forgive is divine".

You seek to point out where I err but nowhere in your heart can you find a basis to forive.

Why? Because one the seven deadly sins has you captured. The sin of pride.

Thanks for dropping by, Harry.

I'm not sure whether Kath and Bertie would particularly want me included in their ilk (see 'Face of evil' post above).

I can't speak for K & B, of course, but as I said over at your place, there's no hard feelings on my part. I 'left' your blog for stated reasons blah blah.

I do understand and sympathise with your point about forgiveness, but Harry your apologies really suck.

I don't apologise, of course, for my Bush comment that seems to have contributed in no small part to all this. It was clumsy, sure, but it was about a critique of the nature of world power, and the values that power asserts.

If you're not interested then fine, and going all Munchausens over your precious feelings about the USA is your right.

Cheers.

Have you been on the piss Harry?
I really am not sure why I bother!

"Out of favour" No Harry, that is just not it!

Look back over your archives Harry!

Everything was going fine till you realized that the Howard Government looked like losing.
Then, for some inexplicable reason you heaped shit on Mike.
Others can see it ! Why can't you?
Okay ,it's just an irrelevant blog in the scheme of things.
But.. Treat others as you yourself would like to be treated. It's a good maxim to live by.

Hurting people's feelings is no joke Harry.

Sorry Mike!

Just can't seem to help myself mate..Besides it's Friday night and I've had a few glasses of champers!
Caz 'd be proud of me I reckon.

A Sam Adams dark ale? Never knew they made the stuff in dark - I'll have to look out for 'em.

Let me get this straight:

- Person heaps bile and scorn (for the umpteenth time) on other person, unprovoked, with no basis, calls them a racist to boot, offers no apology; is subsequently boastful of the manner in which they failed to apologize and delighted with them self over the way in which they withdrew the non-apology.

- For this, everyone else is then further insulted, and the very foundations of their personal ethics and morality are derided, as they are accused of being inadequate humans for not forgiving the above noted behavior.

HOW THE FUCK DID THAT GET TURNED AROUND?

How old are you: six and a half?

Hmmm, good points, Caz...

I often think it's my curse that I tend to be just too conciliatory by half.

CK, I think you proved my point. None of you are of a mind to forgive me and therefore this thing is going nowhere. By now I have the clear message that three of you are in the ilk (you, Father Park and Kathy). Jacob is not really and has a far more friendly tone. Jacob harbours the ilk but does distinguish himself from it to some extent.

I think another old saying is not working either. Time is not necessarily great healer! It seems Harry is more the demon in this whole thing now than ever before.

The crime of Harry Heidelberg shall not be forgiven and shall not be forgotten. The ilk has spoken.

Harry shall be eternally damned for his crimes.

Meanwhile Lataan and Pahoff get off scott free. As said in "American Pie".... I see satan laughing with delight.

Why?

Because I am much nicer than those two! You know this in your heart but the code of the ilk will not allow you to show this.

Ooops just noticed that. Yes Jacob, perhaps you are too conciliatory. You probably should join the ilk completely and denounce Harry without equivocation. The peacemaker is not blessed.

Kathy asks if I have been on the piss. Well I had about three Japanese beers after a very hard working week. That's surely no crime.

Tonight I will have several more Aussie beers no doubt up in Newcastle. That's definitely not a crime.

Anyway, I will try not to disturb the ilk further. I have received the damning message and see that time will will not heal this thing. What I did was absolutely not to be forgiven, I have destroyed people's souls and all the rest of it. Blah, blah, blah.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

What a load of self-pitying, self-serving, precious, big girls blouse crud. The three of you are as bad as one another.

You carry on like school girls. You make Rowley look manly. Heidelberg, Park and Stam. The ilk of the big sooks.

.. and the "man" who posted that comment posts anonymously. He's not always keen to identify himself, is he?

Pretty funny if you think about it and very "manly" of "anonymous" to observe that we are sooks and that we make Rowley look manly.

Oh good grief. Too stupid for words. I have a bucks party in Newcastle I need to get to and I should have left hours ago.

I shall now depart to enjoy the company of real people.

Oh for fuck's sake Harry.

What a load of puerile drivel.

GROW UP.

BE A MAN.

It's not a friggin' beauty contest.

Destroyed souls? Where the fuck do you get garbage like that?

You question other people's integrity, indeed, insist that they have none, then carry on as if it's a cute party trick, and the toddler should be fawned over by the grown-ups for being so gosh-darned adorable.

Jeez loise Harry.

When you are grossly offensive, you apologise, with depth and sincerity.

You can't do either.

*Gravely disappointed in you*

We've just been through the rite of Reconciliation with the kids. I know it's a Catholic thingy and all but, certain things are rather universal. One of those would be the cute notion that, in "confession" or Reconciliation, one admits to one's wrong doings in seeking forgiveness.

Must be one of those antiquated Catholic things I suppose.

As for Anon, nothing like having the convictions of one's words eh? Gutless individual.

Kathy, my dear fellow Ilk, you got the email eh? A clear deonstration of the subject here huh? You might as well be speaking with a house brick.

Caz, you Ilk you, your well written words are like a cocktail umbrella in yesterday's thunderstorm: not acheiving much.

Think I'll post one of Josh's poems. He has no problem standing by what he writes...

"like a cocktail umbrella in yesterday's thunderstorm: not acheiving much"

*Sniffle*

Whatever.

I haven't bought into it until now, since it's so futile - and H.H has always ostentatiously pretended that I don't exist / ain't worth acknowledging (I imagine he believes me too ridiculously stupid to have noticed the perpetual insult) - but I felt the urge to point out the bleedin' foooking obvious, in this instance.

I hadn't seen the whole thread over at CC.

Sheesh.

Never before has one man been so determined to pour copious amounts of leaded petrol onto the embers of an all but cold fire.

Talk about exulted pride going before swine, or is that after swine, or galloping together with swine?

Self knowledge: zero.

Human knowledge: zero.

Self delusions: 10 / 10 and rising.

You would think though, Caz, that a bit of self reflection would be in order for Harry.

Particularly in view of the fact that there be a few of us raising objections to his oafish, infantile, egocentric behaviour.

Introspection?? Doubt if he understands the meaning of the word.
It's a shame really.
A damn shame!

CK says, "H.H has always ostentatiously pretended that I don't exist"

I don't understand that remark at all. Perhaps it is because I have a score of "zero" in "self knowledge" and "zero" in "human knowledge" or as Kathy so kindly puts it am - oafish, infantile, egocentric. Or maybe as CK sums it up, I am simply boorish.

The girls have sure come out swinging on your behalf, Father Park!

You guys have made your position very clear. I'll leave you to it then.

See ya.

How's the head today, Harry?

I think in part perhaps the 'girls' (add 'male chauvinist pig' to the list) might be giving you a taste of your own medicine.

Hackneyed expression, I know, but my head's not too good today.

As peacemaker (don't know how I ended up being that) I might propose in the spirit of Christmas a general amnesty on all trespasses against all of our conscientiously held strictures against sick racism, oafishness, relentlessness, boorishness, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

As a seasoned peacemaker, however, I know when to just cut my losses and run screaming from a scene of carnage.

I think it's fair to say some at least of the ilk hereabouts still luvs ya, Harry, in all your & our flawed and outrageous humanity.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, you old dog.

"might be giving you a taste of your own medicine"

Err, no, I don't think so Jacob.

To achieve that, my comments would have needed to be abusive, vile, insulting, accusatory, nasty, petty, unscrupulous, egotistical and sweepingly irrelevant.

I would then have needed to pretend to act like a disingenuous three year old.

You're an arrogant arse Heidelberg.

That said, have a good Christmas and a Park free New year.

If ever you return, please don't presume to lecture on forgiveness: this current foray has made you look the utter goose you are.

Enjoy Pahoff, Lataan and the endless rounds of senseless abuse.
