Hey, I just read about the anteater attack. Very sad, although the young lass died after having her leg amputated, and it's not clear whether the injuries were fatal or the surgery.

A male or female anteater ... and behind door number three?

Yes, the cause of death is somewhat unclear. People are dying in care all the time.

Four elderly nursing home residents died of food poisoning over Easter. But the staff didn't tell the Health Dept until the following Wednesday!!

They could have phoned an emergency number, but deemed it "unnecessary" because - to quote the executive manager - "Our residents are very fragile and elderly and it is not unusual for them to pass away, because we care for people at the end of their lives."

*Ahem*

Apparently death by food-borne bacteria is just a natural part of the life cycle for "people at the end of their lives."

Extraodinary!

To also quote them Jacob, they "didn't think it was an emergency".

Jeeeeeez.

At least that explains why they only tried to contact DHS on a not-an-emergecy-at-all number, on a public holiday.

Beggars belief, doesn't it.

Sure does!

And this thing just goes on and on... The poor old dears are still succumbing, even after the home seems to have done everything to remedy the problems.

What in the fuck is going on there....?
